A Celebration of Local Food and Drink Producers
The countdown is on! The annual Cork and Kerry Food Market event is set to return to Cork City Hall this weekend.
This year’s Food Market will be celebrated over two separate events the first being an after-work celebration on Friday 1st November for over 18’s focusing on craft drinks and food pairings with cocktail master classes and master brewer talks from 5pm to 10pm.
The Saturday event will feature over 70 artisan food and drink producers alongside cookery demonstrations by Kevin Dundon and The Happy Pear. A new addition to this year’s event will feature interactive food demonstrations from six of the region’s top local chefs.
In excess of 10,000 people attended last year’s Cork Kerry Food Market event where they enjoyed and experienced the fruits of our top artisan food producers labor. I was lucky to be one of them and it really did exceeded my expectations!
I have a positive point of view on Brexit in that I believe it affords us all a greater opportunity to further support local Irish producers. There will be no guarantees that the food, we normally consume will be still available here post Brexit so we need to start looking closer to home to source alternative Irish produce.
I hope to see you there this weekend! #SaveTheDate #CorkandKerryFoodMarket
